Audio speakers not working on HP EliteBook 8 G1i (Intel Lunar Lake) - ALC245 / CS35L56

Looks like a same problem as

Audio speaker dysfunction: Intel Alder Lake, no audio from speaker, but earphones working

So I upgraded via terminal recently (sudo dnf upgrade), and since then I seem to have lost my speaker sound on Fedora 43. I tried booting through previous kernels, but the same problem persists. I also tried (sudo dnf upgrade --refresh) to update alsa as per another suggestion, but that did not help either. Note that when I plug in earphones, I can hear sound through them.
