Audio is coming out of my laptop speakers and my headphones at the same time. This doesn’t happen on my windows installation (I have my laptop dual booted), however.
I am using Fedora 42 Workstation Edition, on a 5th gen ThinkPad E14.
I did quite a bit of research before asking this question, a lot of results said to enable “Auto-Mute” in alsamixer
, but when I ran it, selected my sound card (sof-hda-dsp
), and picked “All”, no such option appeared, even after I scrolled over to each option.
One answer mentioned executing the command lspci -k
and having a look at the sound drivers. Here’s the only result that seems to actually be important:
00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation Raptor Lake-P/U/H cAVS (rev 01)
Subsystem: Lenovo Device 50d1
Kernel driver in use: sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl
Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel, snd_soc_avs, snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl
Another interesting thing I only just noticed is that, in the sound section in the settings app, the only available option for the output device is “Headphones - Raptor Lake-P/U/H cAVS”, even when I don’t have my headphones plugged in.
