Article Description:
Below are some summary thoughts from Neal and the KDE SIG that I would be working to turn into an article:
Call back to Fedora Linux 40 and the inclusion of MegaRelease 6
Noteworthy things to call out this cycle:
- Fedora KDE on ARM is now release-blocking: Changes/Fedora KDE AArch64 ReleaseBlocker - Fedora Project Wiki
- Does not include ARM live ISOs yet (these are still not release-blocking), will come in a future release
- New Fedora KDE Mobile spin along with Kinoite Mobile variant: Changes/Fedora KDE Plasma Mobile - Fedora Project Wiki
- No install ISO for Kinoite Mobile this cycle, coming soon!
- KDE Plasma 6.2: Plasma 6.2 - KDE Community
- Full support for configuration and calibration of drawing tablets for artists
- Integrated full color management support for games and multimedia enabled out of the box
- Significantly improved accessibility, including features to adapt for color-blindness and “sticky keys” for users with limited dexterity and mobility
Fedora level things to note:
- TuneD replaces Power Profiles Daemon: Changes/TunedAsTheDefaultPowerProfileManagementDaemon - Fedora Project Wiki
- Opens the door for more customization and flexibility for individual systems
- Support for modern laptop camera: Changes/IPU6 Camera support - Fedora Project Wiki
Thanks for your consideration!
