It looks good to me. +1. It looks like there might be a couple articles ahead of yours in the publishing queue, but Richard would have a better idea about how close they are to being ready for publication. None of them look urgent though, so I expect bumping them in favor of yours would be OK.
@pboyPagure card #346 is open for the article. There shouldn’t be a problem publishing this on 20 December if you have it in the WordPress Magazine instance. There is only one potential article and it isn’t time critical.
Let us know the WordPress preview link as soon as you can. Add it as a comment on ticket #346
Well, I’m a scientist and writing articles for various magazines and publishers is part of my everyday life. But here I’m somehow lost. I just logged into Wordpress Dashboard. And where to go here? Do I have to create a new “post”? I don’t think so. I want to write an article in a serious magazine, not some “post” in a blog. Do I have to write a “quick draft” where I’m asked “what’s up your mind”? That’s a silly question, somehow. It looks like I’m in a psychological therapy session. But I just want to transfer a finished text into a CMS.
@pboy
Once you have logged in to the WordPress instance for Fedora Magazine look for the “+ New” drop down menu in the top menu bar. Select “Post”.
Place the cursor on “Add title” and enter the title. Move your cursor to “Type/to choose a block” and start writing. When you hit enter you will create a new text block (paragraph) so keep typing till the end of the paragraph.
The + at the right side when you start a new text block will give you control over the type of the block.
You can create headings, lists, preformatted text (used for block of code).
WP at acts as yet another editor, even though they may use “blog” type terminology. (After all, that’s were WP started.
Once you have text entered you can change it to Bold, Italic, links and more by selected the text you wish to format.
If you have a specific need that is not obvious, let us know and we’ll help you out. If you want, just enter the text and we’ll try to help edit it a bit for you. Cut and paste in plain text if at all possible but drop the text in and we can help sort it if there are issues.
Thanks, I did that. The author of the article is our member Stephen Daley. I wrote that into the first Paragraph, because I don’t see an author field. I hope that’s OK-.
