Are delta RPMs dead?

@decathorpe, considering that:

  1. Daily upgrade mechanisms are now functional in both GNOME Software and KDE Discover (which I believe are both enabled by default upon DE installation), to me, solely its lack of integration in PackageKit appears to prevent the DRPM concept, even implemented as it was beforehand, being usable by the majority of the userbase.

  2. By default, KDE Discover and GNOME Software stage package installations to occur upon reboot, so that they can be slowly downloaded during daily uptime, daily upgrades are more feasible than ever for those with slow connections (like myself).

Irrespective, for massive installations, it would matter!
