I had a constant dream for several years: I wanted to run/host a Gopher server, just for fun. Unfortunately, I never had enough quiet time to make it happen. Well, that changed recently. If anyone is interested in reproducing my fedornicus setup, I’d be glad to hear how that worked for you. Mine is working fine on an average laptop running the current Fedora Linux (Workstation Edition). I exposed the TLS entry port on the internet, and I’m waiting for my friends to try it.

I just did away with Windows for the first time. Stuck with Ubuntu VM until I decided to take the matter into my own hands.
I compressed, encrypted and backed up all my docs, videos, downlaods, music, photos and browser bookmarks, etc on my phone. I wrote the latest Fedora 44 workstation iso file to a 16GB USB flash drive and booted from the drive. Then restored my backup and converted the bootable usb back to a simple storage volume.
That’s how I got my first full-time Linux Distro
