I’m doing an operating system from scratch and I use the moon programming language what would it be for operating systems and a large echelon of objects beyond that as well as it is possible to do a lot of things besides developing Brazilian operating systems and in 5-10 months I end and finish it then will be completely functional and capable of running on every kind of PCs from all around the world
c, c++, rust, zig and many others but the common theme is that they are all compiled to object code, linked with libraries and allow control over where your data structures are allocated. They all allow you to get relatively close to the metal, which you will need to do even to emit a character to a VDU.
It’s likely not to be python, lua, moon, bash, javascript or any other scripting/glue language for an Operating System.
Pretty sure you said you were well versed in C (or maybe C++ - I forget which) so I’d worry about the iso build system when you have something which builds and has enough component to require one.
I fear you have a considerable way to go before you need to worry about building a distribution. I look forward to the Beta in a few weeks.
