I don’t remember everything in the update but there was some mesa, systemd, qemu, and firefox. I updated from gnome-software so I can’t dnf history undo. I’d like to play some video games tho so any ideas?
Statistically from reading here I type on mesa. Try to downgrade mesa and see if system still freezes.
If this is a workaround for you, please report the issue, while giving more information about your system.
How do I downgrade? I can’t do dnf history undo because I updated from gnome-software/packagekit
This command not exists. You can use dnf history for:
$ dnf history --help
Usage:
dnf5 [GLOBAL OPTIONS] history <COMMAND> ...
Query Commands:
list List transactions
info Print details about transactions
Software Management Commands:
store [experimental] Store transaction to a file
This means, you need to fill up the history with using dnf. But you can check the updates here:
- Fedora Updates System >> check for your fedora version.
The commandline tool for packagekit is pkcon
but unfortunately I can not help with that. Sorry.
With dnf you can downgrade a package like:
sudo dnf downgrade mesa-24.2.8-1.fc41
I just made a guess with the Fedora version alias package name, you not mentioned it.
This still would be interesting … i guess you are using a Nvidia GPU right?
Nah intel arc A750
I’m also seeing this too. Radeon RX 7700S here.
