You right, nothing explain why this problem and what cause that.
Juste after update from Dicover, many packages are be deleted, computer Restart and install updates, Restart again and… Bluetooth is on but nothing; impossible to link material.

Only solution for get Bluetooth, that Fedora 44 on 7.0.6-200 version.

But is not a real solution.

DO you know how to resolve this ?

Same here. After kernel update to version 7.0.7.200.fc44.x86_64 bluetooth stopped working:

$ sudo dmesg | grep -i blue

My adapter:

$ lspci | grep -iE 'network|bluetooth'
03:00.0 Network controller: MEDIATEK Corp. MT7921K (RZ608) Wi-Fi 6E 80MHz

My bluetooth is working on version 7.0.6.

I just updated my wifes computer, the update included kernel 7.0.7. After the update we were not able to turn on bluetooth.

I the upgraded to F44, but the problem remain the same. My original thought was that there was something broken in F43.

As the problem persisted, my clever thought was to boot into an older kernel. I had only one option kernel 6.19.14, now bluetooth works.

Hello everyone,

I have exactly the same problem.

After today’s update to Fedora 44, the kernel version changed from 7.0.6 to 7.0.7, and since then, Bluetooth no longer activates with my MEDIATEK MT 7922 Bluetooth adapter.

lspci | grep -iE 'network|bluetooth'
Networkcontroller: MEDIATEK Corp. MT7922 802.11ax PCI Express WirelessNetworkAdapter

I restarted, and Bluetooth works on kernel version 7.0.6

My wifes problem is also connected to a Mediatek controller, I believe the same as above.

My computer runs

03:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc QCNFA765 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)

and had no bletooth problem before or after upgrading.

Yeah definitely. I have TP-link UB500 bluetooth usb adapter, and it works OK with kernel 7.0.7.

Same problem here, this is a critical bug, a dealbreaker for me

Then you should consider going back to kernel 6.19.14, this one I know works.

There will be a working update, i’m sure.

Yes, sorry about this, folks. I actually hit it myself too, but not on the systems I tested the update on initially  It’s an upstream regression that snuck in alongside the urgent security fixes.

It will fixed in today’s urgent security updates (sigh). You can grab the F44 build from Koji if you want it right now, updates should be filed soon.

So, before solution from Fedora corp. we have two solution ?

1 : downgrade to 7.0.6-200 (from 7.0.7-200)
or
2 : choose version 7.0.6-200 when I boot my pc.

My Bluetooth is inside laptop.

yes, basically. But 7.0.8 is now available in testing - F44, F43. They should go stable soon.

Hi there,

same here, after the update to 7.0.7, bluetooth is disabled after log in and cannot be enabled.

The bluetooth module on my X670E Steel Legend is

lspci | grep -iE 'network|bluetooth'
Network controller: MEDIATEK Corp. MT7922 802.11ax PCI Express Wireless Network Adapter

Reverting to the 7.0.6 kernel on boot solves the issue.

Hope this issue will be resolved soon.

José

issue resolved with .8 update

That’s sound like.

Maybe wait 1-2 weeks before make update for Fedora.

The reason for the current fast pace of kernel updates is the number of recent AI-assisted discoveries of security holes. If you’re 1-2 weeks behind, you may be leaving your system vulnerable.

Bluetooth is working after update to 7.0.8. Thank you for fixing it so fast.

dnf update’ing to 7.0.8 has also fixed the issue for me.

All good here as well after the update! Thanks for the ultra quick fix!

Not fixed on rawhide?

7.1.0-0.rc3.260515g70eda68668d1.27.fc45.x86_64

ID 0e8d:e616 still isn’t loading for me.

EDIT: Downgrading to 7.0.8-200 from Koji works for the time being.
