Advanced partition editing needs LVM support

So by trial and error, I managed to do an install with LVM support. How? By hitting the tiny hamburger menu and editing the disk manually, creating /boot and /boot/efi entries, then a BLANK LUKS2 partition, which I clicked the name of, changed the type to LVM, then opened a terminal window, did pvcreate on it, then vgcreate from that, then back to the window and magically I can add logical volumes and format them. Why can’t I create the volume group and physical volumes in the editor? If I can somehow, where is this hidden?

LVM is supported, but counterintuitively you cannot add a VG from the page with the disk selected, you need to do that from the “main” storage page:
