Adding breeze default theme to usr to enable global themes on kinoite

this might be asked many times already as flatpaks dont have access to system files to respect system global theme so could it be possible to install default breeze dark/light themes as user and install those as global to get all apps respecting system theme.

i saw somewhere post where stated downloading global themes and using install option to usr folder to get so called unified global theme

I dont know what you mean.

“Plasma styles” include SDDM themes, which are expected to be in /usr/share/sddm and thus dont work, so global themes dont work either.

This is an isolated issue and it is being worked at, to get a real solution and not a workaround.

Not sure what you mean with Flatpaks, user, usr, etc

I am on Fedora Workstation, not Kinoite, but an interesting thing I have noticed is that as I installed a theme for legacy-gtk apps (adw-gtk3-theme) as RPM from the repos, then a flatpak update also installed the same theme as Flatpak (probably as some kind of “dependency” of org.gnome.Platform).

The installation of the Flatpak theme happened not right after installing the RPM theme, but rather after activitating it (via GNOME Tweaks).

Fedora’s flatpak runtimes are not currently configured to accept theme extensions, nor do we currently have the means to create our own, although both are certainly desired.

Please file an issue at Issues · fedora / Special Interest Groups (SIGs) / Fedora Flatpak SIG / Fedora Flatpaks · GitLab; if there is demand, it should be possible to simply add the package to the runtime until such time we have the means of creating our own extension packages, or add the ability to use org.gtk.gtk3theme.* extensions (e.g. from flathub) if installed.
