Activities Overview doesn't work as expected on Fedora 32

I recently upgraded from Fedora 31 to Fedora 32. The “Activities Overview” screen doesn’t works as expected when any application is open in the background.

See the attached screenshot.

The Activites screen doesn’t run on top of running applications. If there are no applications open, it works perfectly.

The search functionality, all apps button, switching between screens etc… doesn’t work.

Any thoughts?

Eh, something is clearly off here. Can you please create a new user and check if the issue persists? That will tell us if this is a system issue or one limited to your user profile.

Also: if you have any shell extensions installed, disable them and restart to see if they might be to blame.

Hi @mcatanzaro,

You are right, it was the shell extensions.

I uninstalled “Tweaks” and installed “Extensions” for extension management. Also, removed all custom extensions. Only default extensions are enabled.

Now the activities screen works perfectly.

Akshay
