Access SMB Share with digikam

Hi,

i run a Synology NAS with smb. The access via dolphin or krusader works without problem. But i got no chance to access the NAS via digikam. The SMB share is not shown in the digikam window [1]

Does anybody got a idea how to fix this?

Thanks & Regards
jochen

Digikam might be outdated, not sure.

If it uses the xdg-desktop-portal-kde it probably works. If it uses some other filechooser it may not.

How did you install DigiKam?

You might want to open an issue about this, they should totally use the portal by default

Digikam is version 8.5.0 and install it via Discover, not as flatpack.

I got also a second application where i got the same problem but don´t remember which one this was.

Maybe i try to install it via flatpack… But also i will open an issue about this.

You can probably change an environment variable to use the portal. Or the app doesnt support it.

For sure make a report, also ask on discuss.kde.org

So, after the weekend i got some news.

I changed the filechosser dialog to system view (in german it calls “System Dateidialoge verwenden”) - after this i was able to choose my smb-share.

Unfortunaly digikam tells me after this, i need to mount the smb share local to get access and that digikam didn’t support smb share access at the moment.

So i try to mount my smb share as user and stuck with the next problem :frowning:

I´m able to mount the share but got no write access to it. I mount it via /etc/fstab and can read the share but not write it. somebody any idea? This ist /etc/fstab
