About option under settings -> system hanging, need to force quit

Hi!

I recently installed fedora 43 on a legion 5 and updated the system and installed the nvidia graphics drivers from software and now when I try to look in the about section, settings freezes and then asks me to wait or force quit. I’ve checked for updates and reboot the system which didn’t help. I waited for about 4 minutes.

sorry for the vague description, if you need any more info let me know and I’ll post it.

thanks!

I cannot be certain. but it is possible your hardware may be affected by one of the bugs in the nvidia 580.105.08 driver.

That driver can be downgraded back to the 580.95.05 version by first enabling the rpmfusion-nonfree repos as shown at Making sure you're not a bot! then running the command shown at.
